Adobe Flash Molehill 3D API

The next release of the Flash Player will see the inclusion of a new API which is going to be a serious game changer for the Flash platform specifically in the gaming environment. The molehill API gives Flash developers access to a new 3D engine able to access hardware acceleration via a system GPU.

The Kicksaints Blog

I finally managed to get the design and development of our company blog up and running. While it only houses our current work and a few misc articles, it will eventually be populated with a lot of information

Kicksaints on the map

Great to finally get a nice “Hello World” from Kicksaints at the new new website, Behance Network, Vimeo, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

So here’s the run down on everything, we’ve changed our focus from mainly doing client work to specialising in interactive, motion and static work for clients as well as products. Now you’re probably asking “What you on about fool, that’s broader than the side of George Bushes barn”. Well its really simple!

ActionScript Toolbox

I was looking for a UML Editor that could export Actionscript 3 classes ready with variables and functions specified in a structure according to what I was trying to program this morning and that’s when I came upon this awesome website. This mind map contains everything any Flash designer/developer could ever want. It helped my find a decent UML editor and it has a list of other potential awesome components and programs worth checking out.

Klok – Personal time tracking made easy

I found this awesome Air application online called Klok. Definitely worth checking out for Freelancers, there are two versions, a free one which I was looking at and a $15.99 version that has tons of extra features. If you base your projects on hours I would recommend the %15.99 version as its features look awesome.

Flash Built Right OOP Bundle

Looks like ActiveDen have released a Flash bundle worth $399 for only $30. I must admit thats quite a bargain, it contains everything from website templates to a 10% discount from Rockable press and even a version of secureSWF which adds protection to your SWF files so people can’t import them and modify them.

Beautiful iGrenade sorry iPhone 4 covers

Some iPhone 4 users might consider getting these covers, they make the iPaperWeight or iGrenade as I call it due to its proneness to explode randomly look really decent. The cover also apparently fixes the “Grip of death” antenna issues with the iPhone 4 (I wonder how something like that slipped through the cracks)

3D Studio Max’s 20th Anniversary

Wow I actually feel kind of old now after hearing it was 3D Studio Max’s 20th anniversary. A lot has happened with this 3D application over the years and when you look back at how it all started you’d be amazed at how little was possible compared to now.

Nostalgia

I’ve started cleaning up archived files to get a proper digital filing structure in place to make it easier to reference work in future.

Rendering and rendering

I’m on the last chapter of “How to be a Rockstar Freelancer”, what a great read! I’ve had some time to finish reading the book while my systems have all been rendering out images for the Sweet spot content website.
